Bryan Mbeumo reportedly turned down four Premier League clubs to join Manchester United in the summer.
According to United insider Sully, the highly-rated forward rejected Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United for a move to Old Trafford.
Tottenham were willing to go above the Red Devils’ bids, and Brentford tried to convince Mbeumo to choose Spurs due to the increased financial package.
But the 26-year-old constantly declined as he only wanted to join United.
Brentford rejected two offers from Man Utd before accepting a bid worth £71 million for Mbeumo in the summer.
He has made an excellent start to life in Manchester, recording four goals and an assist in nine Premier League matches.
The Cameroon international scored the opening goal in United’s 2-1 triumph over Liverpool at Anfield.
He followed that up with a second-half brace against Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday, helping his team win 4-2 at Old Trafford.
The Manchester titans have come under criticism for poor recruitment over the years.
But it looks like they have spent their money well last summer to sign Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Senne Lammens.
All three players have been performing impressively for Ruben Amorim’s side, who have turned a corner since the 3-1 loss at Brentford in September.
United have won their previous three top-flight games and currently sit sixth in the table with 16 points.
