Bukayo Saka put Arsenal ahead against Atlético de Madrid on Tuesday night in the Champions League semi-final second leg after a largely chance-starved opening period.
According to L'Équipe, the breakthrough arrived late in the first half.
Jan Oblak parried a Viktor Gyökeres strike in the 43rd minute, and Saka, 24, swept in the rebound. Those efforts were the only shots on target before the interval.
It was Saka’s third Champions League goal of the season and his first in the knockout phase. He had scored in the league phase against Olympiakos, a 2-0 win on one October, and Slavia Prague, a 3-0 win on four November.
The winger now has two goals in as many games, having also netted in Saturday’s 3-0 Premier League victory over Fulham.
