Matchday 27’s standout performers have been assembled into a notably attack-minded Bundesliga Team of the Week, lined up in a 3-5-2. According to BuLi News, the selection rewards decisive displays across Germany.
In goal, Werder Bremen’s Mio Backhaus produced four crucial saves to clinch a clean sheet and three points against Wolfsburg.
At the back, Bayern’s Josip Stanisic impressed in the 4-0 at Union Berlin with 97 percent passing, three key passes and two successful dribbles, while remaining solid defensively. Ramy Bensebaini came on at half-time for Borussia Dortmund against Hamburger SV and buried two penalties to spark the turnaround. Gladbach wing-back Jens Castrop scored twice in the 3-3 derby draw with Köln, his second a long-range strike off the bar.
RB Leipzig’s Christoph Baumgartner struck twice in the 5-0 over Hoffenheim. Team-mate Brajan Gruda added two goals and an assist as Leipzig overran their visitors. Mainz’s Paul Nebel delivered both goals in a 2-1 win against Eintracht Frankfurt.
For Bayern, Michael Olise created five chances and scored a superb goal. Serge Gnabry marked a rare start with two well-taken finishes.
Up front, Stuttgart’s Deniz Undav tallied two goals and an assist in a 5-2 victory against Augsburg. Freiburg’s Igor Matanovic led a comeback win over St. Pauli with a decisive brace.
