With the sixth matchday of the 2025/26 Bundesliga season in the books, Bulinews Editor-in-Chief Rune Gjerulff has selected his Team of the Week, which lines up in a 4-1-4-1 formation:

Goalkeeper:

Marvin Schwäbe, 1. FC Köln

Played a key role with several important saves to help Köln keep a clean sheet in their 1-0 win over Hoffenheim.

Defenders:

Yan Couto, Borussia Dortmund

Very active and energetic up the right flank, Couto also scored Dortmund's only goal in their 1-0 win over RB Leipzig.

Nicolas Capaldo, Hamburger SV

Delivered a rock-solid defensive performance, winning nine of 12 duels as HSV dominated Mainz 4-0.

Noahkai Banks, Augsburg

Handed a rare start, Banks impressed by scoring Augsburg's opener, winning five of nine duels, and completing 88% of his passes.

Maximilian Mittelstädt, Stuttgart

Responded to his omission from the German national team with a strong performance, winning eight duels, completing 91% of his passes, and providing the assist for Stuttgart's winner.

Midfielders:

Aleix Garcia, Bayer Leverkusen

Pulling the strings for Bayer 04, Garcia completed 97% of his 152 passes in their 2-0 win over 1. FC Union Berlin.

Rayan Philippe, HSV

Philippe delivered his best performance in an HSV shirt to date, scoring a brace in Sunday’s 4-0 win over Mainz.

Bilal El Khannouss, Stuttgart

Having hit the ground running following his summer switch, El Khannouss again made the difference for Stuttgart, scoring the winner and creating four key passes against Heidenheim.

Said El Mala, 1. FC Köln

El Mala was given a chance in the starting eleven and seized it with a fantastic solo effort that led Köln to a 1-0 win over Hoffenheim.

Luis Diaz, FC Bayern

Diaz stole the show against Eintracht, involved in all three goals scoring twice himself and setting up Harry Kane.

Strikers:

Mert Kömür, Augsburg

Kömür delivered a fantastic cross for Noahkai Banks’ opener and later scored himself in Augsburg’s important win over Wolfsburg.
