The visitors from Dortmund first came dangerously close to the goal in Amelsbüren when defender Paula Reimann's shot following a corner from the right hand side around five minutes into the game narrowly went over the crossbar. Shortly after, Sandra Schröer had to spring into action in the Borussians' goal, but was able to stop the advancing Amelsbüren striker in a one-on-one. In the ninth minute, captain Marie Grothe came close to taking BVB into the lead, but her header following a corner by Reimann only hit the outside of the net.

In the 18th minute, it was Marah Tayeh who was able to put the ball in the net after a flat pass from Ann-Sophie Vogel at the far post. Just two minutes later, Dana Marquardt extended BVB's lead to two goals with a header following Lisa Gomulka's corner. It was Grothe who then made it 3-0, putting the ball in the net after the goalkeeper deflected Hedda Wahle's free kick in the six-yard box (28). Marquardt scored again in the 37th minute, with Vogel passing the ball in from the left again. Before half time, the Black&Yellows managed to score yet again to make it 5-0. The Amelsbüren keeper was only able to deflect Tayeh's cross onto the crossbar, and from there it rebounded straight to the feet of Annika Enderle, who scored with a powerful shot (45+2).

After half time, the hosts put up much more of a fight, and repeatedly challenged the Dortmund defence. But Sandra Schröer kept the Black&Yellow goal clean. The BVB team, coached by Thomas Sulewski, had significantly fewer chances than in the first half, and more difficulties driving forward effectively. But the hosts' goal still took one more hit: in the 54th minute, a cross from Tayeh was unavoidably deflected by an Amelsbüren defender into her own goal - the score was now 6-0. It stayed that way until the end of the game, after Vogel had narrowly missed with a shot from a sharp angle, and Mandy Reinhardt, who had come on as a substitute, was stopped by the Amelsbüren keeper in a one-on-one five minutes before the end of the game. With their 6-0 win the Borussians have once again defended their place at the top of the Westfalenliga table.

Before the game between top teams BVB and FC Schalke on 27 April in the Stadion Rote Erde, the Borussia Dortmund women will be playing on Easter Monday in Bielefeld in the semi-final of the Westfalenpokal. Kick-off for the game against Arminia Bielefeld is at 15:00 CEST in the EDIMEDIEN-ARENA.
