Several clubs have secured places in CAF Champions League quarter-finals as the 2025 /26 group stage moves closer to its final round.

How qualification works

The CAF Champions League is played through preliminary rounds before reaching the group stage where 16 team are split into four group.

Each group sees teams play home and away matches. The top two team in every group qualify for the quarter-finals which are played in knockout format.

With one round still to play, some clubs have already confirmed their places in the last eight.

Qualified teams so far

Three teams officially booked their spots in the quarter-finals:

  1. Pyramids FC

Pyramids lead Group A with 13 point after four wins and one draw. They remain unbeaten and still have one match to play.

  1. Al Ahly

Al Ahly secured qualification from Group B after reaching nine point. Their draw against JS Kabylie on Saturday confirmed their place before the final group match.

  1. Stade Malien

Stade Malien qualified from Group D after beating Espérance Tunis on Sunday. The win took them to 11 point placing them top of the group.

Group standings overview

  • In Group A, Pyramids FC sit comfortably at the top while RS Berkane & Power Dynamos remain level on seven point keeping the battle for second place open.
  • In Group B, Al Ahly lead with nine point followed closely by AS FAR Rabat on eight. The final round will decide the second qualifier.
  • Group C remains wide open, with Al-Hilal Omdurman, MC Alger and Mamelodi Sundowns all still in contention for qualification.
  • In Group D, Stade Malien are already throug while Espérance Tunis & Petro de Luanda are tied on six point setting up decisive final round.

Tie-break rules

If teams finish level on points, CAF applies the following tie-break rules:

  • Head-to-head results
  • Goal difference in head-to-head matches
  • Goals scored in head-to-head matches

These criteria could prove crucial in the final group games.

What comes next

The final round of group matches will decide the remaining five quarter-final places with several groups still finely balanced.
