CAF CL / JSK – AS FAR: a draw that helps no one

CAF Champions League: JSK held back by AS FAR
JS Kabylie seized control early in the match against AS FAR Rabat, setting the tempo against an opponent sitting deep. Despite their territorial dominance, the Military side proved dangerous on quick transitions, forcing Gaya Merbah to make several crucial saves to keep his net untouched.
The match then became scrappy, marred by fouls and technical errors. JSK came closest to breaking the deadlock in the first half with a stunning strike from Ryad Boudebouz outside the box that crashed against the post, leaving the Tizi Ouzou crowd in disbelief.
After the break, the contest evened out. The Kabyles thought they'd earned a penalty, but the referee saw it differently. The scoreline remained unchanged (0-0). After three rounds of the CAF Champions League, JSK and AS FAR sit third and fourth in the group with two points apiece, their hopes of qualification now hanging by a thread.
