Camara pounces as Vitória rise to sixth

Vitória S.C. edged past Rio Ave 1-0 in Vila do Conde, a result that lifts them from eighth to sixth in Liga Portugal.

In the 29th minute, Marius Vrushaj received a second yellow and was sent off for the hosts. Oumar Camara then finished from close range for the winner (35.).

Cezary Miszta kept Rio Ave alive before the interval, saving from Camara and then Noah Saviolo (37.). After the restart, Juan Castillo denied Clayton and André Luiz as Vitória protected their lead.

Sotiris Silaidopoulos turned to Georgios Liavas and Jakub Brabec at half time, but the visitors stayed compact. Vando replaced the injured Saviolo (73.).

Vitória registered 16 attempts. Rio Ave managed eight.
