Real Madrid will lock horns with Athletic Bilbao at the San Mames Stadium this Wednesday evening as they look to earn a win on the road in La Liga. Los Blancos were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw away at Girona recently, so they would be eager to get back to winning ways in the league.

Xabi Alonso will set his players up in a 4-3-3 formation and is expected to make some tweaks to his first XI for this game. Eduardo Camavinga and Alvaro Carreras could play from the start of this clash.

4-3-3 Real Madrid Predicted Lineup To Face Athletic Bilbao

Defence

Thibaut Courtois will function in goal for the Madrid giants after conceding one goal in his last appearance. Eder Militao will operate alongside Antonio Rudiger at the centre of Real Madrid‘s backline as they look to keep the opposition attackers frustrated throughout the game.

Trent Alexander-Arnold will try to give a good account of himself as the right-back, while Alvaro Carreras hopes to catch the eye on the other side as the left-back. Both of them will have to pick and choose their moments to join in on the attack.

Ferland Mendy and Fran Garcia will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench.

Midfield

Jude Bellingham, Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga will make up Real Madrid’s midfield department this Wednesday evening. All three of them need to retain possession well at the centre of the park if they want to create enough chances for Los Blancos to win this contest.

Dani Ceballos will have to be content with a spot on the bench as he waits for his opportunity to make an impact in the second half if required.

Attack

Vinicius Junior will get a chance to prove his value on the left flank, while Federico Valverde looks to put in a good shift on the right wing.

Kylian Mbappe will spearhead Alonso’s attack in the final third. He would be eager to get his name on the scoresheet after doing so against Girona recently.

Rodrygo and Endrick will have to be content with a spot on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the latter stages of the game if needed.
