As the better performers in the first phase, Botafogo, Madureira, Fluminense and Vasco will host. There is no advantage for any side and, if level, progression will be settled on penalties.

In the semi-finals, teams from the same group meet again in two-legged ties. The Botafogo or Flamengo winner faces the victor of Madureira or Boavista, while the Fluminense or Bangu winner plays whoever advances from Vasco or Volta Redonda.

The final will be a single match. Quarter-final losers will move into the Taça Rio, with semi-finals also between clubs from the same group over two legs, and a one-off final.
