After the World Cup 2026 fiasco, Marc Brys raises his voice and sends a warning to all of Africa ahead of CAN 2025 in Morocco.
Defeated 1-0 by DR Congo in the dying moments of the 2026 World Cup playoff semi-final, Cameroon saw their dream slip away in the 90+1st minute when Chancel Mbemba rose to the occasion from a corner, sending the Congolese through. It was a cruel scenario, especially as the match—played under torrential rain—remained tightly contested and undecided for a long time.
Amid this bitter disappointment, Marc Brys delivered a direct message. The head coach refuses any sense of catastrophe. "These are professional players who play for top clubs. Everyone is disappointed, but they need to come back calmly and, above all, mentally strong. We have time. We'll be ready for CAN. We'll take the time to process this, but we'll be motivated to prepare for the tournament. I don't think this will be an excuse not to play a great CAN," warned the Indomitable Lions' coach.
