The race for the ultimate crown in the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN 2025) promises to be absolutely intense.

As host nation, Morocco enters as one of the major favorites in this 35th edition of Africa's flagship tournament.

Drawn into Group A, Morocco will face Comoros, Zambia, and Mali in the opening round.

Here are the four players to watch in Group A.

Achraf Hakimi (Morocco)

Still recovering from injury, Paris Saint-Germain's star man is expected to be back at full strength before the start of the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN).

A key player in Walid Regragui's setup, the former Real Madrid defender will be aiming to etch his name into history by helping Morocco clinch a second continental title, their first since 1976.

At 27, Hakimi already boasts 88 caps, with 11 goals and 15 assists to his name.

Patson Daka (Zambia)

The Leicester City striker will be the main attacking weapon for a Zambian side desperate to recapture former glory.

A full international since 2015, the Chingola native has scored 20 goals and provided 5 assists in 42 appearances for the Chipolopolo.

El Bilal Touré (Mali)

The Besiktas forward is the technical leader of a Malian squad heading into this new CAN as a dark horse.

The former Atalanta man has already featured in 25 matches for the Eagles, netting 9 goals and providing 3 assists.

Myziane Maolida (Comoros)

The Al-Kholood striker is the driving force behind a Comoros side eager to make a splash at CAN 2025.

He has already appeared in 17 matches for the Coelacanths, tallying 5 goals and a single assist.
