The Carabao Cup semi-final draw took place on Wednesday night after three teams booked their place in the last four this week.
Holders Newcastle United are still in the hunt to retain their crown after beating Fulham at St. James’ Park with a late header from Lewis Miley.
The Magpies will take on Manchester City, who also overcame West London opposition at home. They defeated Brentford at Eastlands following a stunning goal from Rayan Cherki and a deflected strike from Savinho.
Chelsea advanced to the semi-finals thanks to a 3-1 away win over League One outfit Cardiff City. Alejandro Garnacho broke the deadlock close to the hour mark, but his opener was cancelled out by David Turnbull. The Blues, however, retook the lead through Pedro Neto before Garnacho sealed victory with his second goal of the night in stoppage time.
Arsenal and Crystal Palace are yet to play their quarter-final clash as the Eagles are competing in the UEFA Conference League this week. They will face off on Tuesday, 23 December; the winner will take on Chelsea in the next round.
Here’s everything you need to know about the League Cup semi-finals.
The first legs will be played on the week commencing 12 January, with the reverse fixtures to be played in the week of 2 February.
