Carlo Ancelotti and Real Madrid have been a match made in heaven. With 15 major trophies during his tenure, the Italian manager is the Spanish club’s most successful of all time.

It would seem the relationship between club and manager is to come to an end soon though, as Ancelotti has announced exactly when he is set to leave the club.

As per Onda Cero, Ancelotti has decided that he will not continue his work in the Spanish capital next season, and will make way for a new manager to take over at the end of this season.

The 65-year-old could possibly be retiring from football entirely, and nobody could fault him given the amount of success he has had over his illustrious career.

If current rumours are to be believed, Bayer Leverkusen’s Xabi Alonso is currently the front-runner to take over from Ancelotti, but this is nothing but a rumour at this point in time.

Real Madrid fans still have plenty of time to hopefully see their manager win the club a few more trophies. They will be eyeing success in the league, the cup, and Europe to give their gaffer a proper send-off.
