Carlo Ancelotti provides fresh Arda Güler update before Real Madrid’s trip to Sociedad | OneFootball

Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has on Thursday spoken once more regarding the situation of Arda Güler in his squad.

As much comes amid mounting pressure on Real’s headmaster to make use of Güler’s talents over the final weeks of the campaign.

Los Blancos, of course, are fresh off all but securing their status as La Liga champions for the season, owing to a 3-2 downing of arch rivals Barcelona last weekend.

Still going strong in the Champions League, too, it has in turn been suggested that some of the club’s more seldom-seen stars could be in line for an uptick in game-time over the weeks ahead.

One such player, as alluded to above, comes in the form of Arda Güler, who, despite having impressed across the limited minutes afforded to him during a difficult debut campaign in Madrid to date, remains very much on the fringes of boss Ancelotti’s squad.

Speaking in a press conference ahead of his side’s trip to Anoeta to face Real Sociedad on Friday night, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of the potential participation of the 19-year-old was put to Ancelotti himself.

And though the Italian did not outright confirm as much, he did reiterate that Güler is ‘ready to play’:

“Arda Güler is okay, he’s been ready for a long time. He hasn’t had opportunities, as the matches have been demanding. He deserved the minutes. He can play.”
