Carlo Ancelotti says Neymar is ready to play the full 90 minutes for Brazil, with the Santos attacking midfielder recovered from a grade two calf injury. The No 10 has trained with the squad since last week and remains available at the World Cup.
"Yes, he can play 90 minutes," Ancelotti said. "He is training very well and is respectful, kind and loved by his team-mates, he has quality and is very humble, I am very happy with him, and obviously he wants to play, as he always has," he told Folha de São Paulo.
Neymar was not available for the 1-1 draw with Morocco at MetLife Stadium, then did not travel for the 3-0 win over Haiti at Lincoln Financial Field. He returned with late minutes in the 3-0 victory against Scotland at Hard Rock Stadium in the third and final group game on Wednesday 24.
In the round of 32, a 2-1 win over Japan at NRG Stadium, he stayed on the bench and would have been introduced had the tie gone to extra time, but Brazil struck late. Ancelotti said he planned to use him if the score had remained level.
With Paquetá injured, Neymar is in contention for a place against Norway in the round of 16 at MetLife Stadium this Sunday at 17:00.
