With six goals in his last four matches, Carlos Espí’s brace against Oviedo has electrified Levante’s survival push. The 20-year-old academy striker is flourishing under Luís Castro.

According to Superdeporte, on 1 September 2025, as Etta Eyong arrived, he turned down several loan offers to stay. His entourage backed the call despite Julián Calero’s staff urging a loan and warning of a fringe role.

The picture has flipped. Espí now leads the line while Eyong’s minutes have waned, though both combined against Alavés when the Cameroonian set up the Tavernes de la Valldigna forward to clinch the win.

Ciutat de València had invested its hopes elsewhere, yet the number 19, a scorer since his Prebenjamín days at UE Tavernes, has taken command. Long a favourite with Levante fans, Orriols has embraced him.

After joining the Granota academy in 2022 without truly envisaging a professional career, he added between four and six kilos of muscle. He has not looked back.

Last season he struck six in 478 minutes, with a turning point against Eldense, then he assisted Carlos Álvarez to reach the elite in Burgos. This term he has seven in 559 minutes.

His ceiling remains hard to read.
