Palmeiras beat Red Bull Bragantino to maintain a six-point lead in the Brasileiro, and on Goalkeeper’s Day the standout again was Carlos Miguel.
According to Nosso Palestra, his display was decisive. He produced vital stops at the start and after the interval. The clean sheet made it three in a row, matching their best defensive run of the year, achieved against Portuguesa, Santos and Mirassol, all 1-0.
Narrow scorelines have set the tone for Palmeiras in 2026. When required up front, Flaco López answered, his 11th of the year coming from a Ramón Sosa assist. Sosa is increasingly earning favour with Abel Ferreira’s staff.
López also has 7 assists, giving him 18 goal contributions in the team’s 46 this season, 39.1 per cent.
The winner began with Andreas Pereira, now operating higher than last year and active in chance creation. He is pursuing a World Cup call-up and has been another attacking protagonist.
