Carlos Palacios says he could leave Boca in this transfer window after a first half of the year without a minute of action. Chronic synovitis in his right knee led to surgery on 23 February.

His last appearance was on 7 December, a home defeat to Racing at La Bombonera. Since then he has undergone kinesiotherapy and a long rehabilitation, even missing the latest squad for the Universidad Católica match.

“I don’t know, he has to decide, it depends on him, on the club. I don’t know what they want, whether they really want me or not, I have no idea,” he told TNT Sports Chile.

“I have a contract at Boca, but I don’t know what will happen with me, so the doors are always open for everyone. I always said when I left that at some point I would return, if it has to happen now it will happen, if not, later, but I will return at some point, I will return.” He was referring to a possible return to Colo Colo.

Palacios remains under contract at Boca until 31 December 2029. With his knee problem now behind him, the coming months will determine whether he earns game time at Boca or takes a different path.
