West Ham secured a 2-1 FA Cup third-round win over Queens Park Rangers thanks to Taty Castellanos, who headed in Crysencio Summerville’s cross in extra time to settle the tie.

Summerville had put the Hammers ahead late in the first half after a slick move involving Jarrod Bowen, Pablo, and Soungoutou Magassa.

The visitors responded in the second half when Richard Kone glanced in Karamoko Dembele’s cross to level the match.

West Ham struggled to break through during normal time, with QPR goalkeeper Joe Walsh making several key saves and defenders blocking efforts from Taty and Summerville. 

In extra time, the breakthrough finally came. Summerville evaded Amadou Mbengue on the left and delivered a precise cross for Castellanos, whose header beat Walsh and sent West Ham into the fourth round.

The result provides a boost for Nuno Espirito Santo and his squad ahead of next week’s crucial Premier League clash with Tottenham.
