CBF brings forward Sereias match, sets Independência for América-MG clash in Brasileiro A-1 | OneFootball

CBF has brought forward América-MG v Sereias in the Brasileiro A-1 and confirmed Independência as the venue. According to Diario Do Peixe, the fixture moves from 25 July, 15:00, to 24 July, 19:00, and UOL will broadcast it.

América-MG requested the switch because the men’s side host Goiás at Independência on 26 July in Série B. The intention is to leave the pitch with more recovery time between games.

The tie marks the return of Marcelo Frigério’s team to competition. Santos are 12th on 14 points.

With five rounds left, they can add at most 15 points, reaching 29. Internacional hold eighth with 20 points. To reach the knockout phase, the Sereias would need a strong upturn and rivals to slip.

Their campaign reads three wins, five draws and four defeats, with 12 scored and 15 conceded. Beyond the Brasileiro, Santos continue in the Paulistão F, still to face Taubaté, Bragantino, São Paulo and Mirassol in the first phase.
