The Brazilian Football Confederation has set monthly meetings with Serie A and Serie B clubs to shape a new national rulebook for 2027, the federation announced.
The opening session on 10 August will address refereeing. Further meetings cover competition organisation on 14 September and licensing and infrastructure on 13 October.
Matchday procedures are scheduled for 9 November, then governance, oversight and integrity on 7 December. The revamp draws on league governance models studied in Europe and during the 2026 World Cup, with changes expected to feature in the 2027 competition regulations.
This programme follows an April summit with clubs on strengthening the domestic game. Also in August, CBF will meet sides to discuss implementing IFAB’s rules introduced in February and used at the World Cup, including sendings-off for players who cover their mouths in confrontations, tighter control of time lost to substitutions and restarts, and updated VAR intervention guidelines.
While reforms take shape, Corinthians return on Thursday to face Remo at Neo Química Arena at 19:30, in round 19 of the Campeonato Brasileiro.
