CD Castellón ‘interested in’ ADO Den Haag midfielder Jari Vlak after standout season | OneFootball

CD Castellón are accelerating their summer rebuild and have been linked with ADO Den Haag captain Jari Vlak.

According to Voetbal International, the Spanish club have shown interest in the 27-year-old midfielder, and Vlak is keen on the switch. He has one year remaining on his contract and was in renewal talks. Those discussions are said to be on hold after learning of Castellón’s interest, and he hopes ADO will work with the club to reach an agreement.

Six days into July, Castellón have already announced Álvaro Martín, Juanjo Nieto, Fran Castillo and Iñigo Córdoba, and exercised the option to buy Agustín Sienra.

Vlak was named the Dutch second division’s best player last season after leading ADO to the title, contributing 11 goals and seven assists. The previous campaign he added 10 goals and four assists.

A powerful box-arriving midfielder at 1.91 metres, he is comfortable on the ball and adept at finding space in the area. Many of his goals came from late runs, underlining his timing and awareness.

He also has Eredivisie experience with FC Emmen, playing 48 matches across two seasons and scoring one goal in each. In the second tier he has 215 appearances, 40 goals and 32 assists.
