CD Castellón are into the final stretch of pre-season after a major rebuild, and fierce competition in attack could prompt exits. Off the pitch, new sign-ups are pushing Castalia towards another near sell-out.

According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, the forward line has been reinforced by Antonio Gala, Fran Castillo, Álvaro Martín, Iñigo Córdoba and Hamza Bellari, among others, which could force calls before the summer window closes. Isra Suero and Awer Mabil are on the possible exit list, with a return to Australia a possibility for Mabil, while Suero is weighing proposals.

Castellón B play their second friendly this morning against CD Acero at Gaetà Huguet as they build minutes for the Segunda Federación season. They opened with a 3-3 draw against Villarreal C, with Álvaro Martí, Derek and Jacobo de Oro on target.

The Acero match could also bring the official debut of Carlos Calavia, who featured against Villarreal C before his signing was announced on Sunday, following Juanki Ferrando’s move to Nàstic de Tarragona. The reserves are steadily raising the bar before a notably ambitious campaign in Spain’s fourth tier.

The season-ticket drive entered its final phase on Tuesday, opening new seats to Carnet Albinegre holders via an online process that follows the waiting list by seniority, with instructions emailed to applicants.

Phase one closed on 12,850 renewals, leaving fewer than 1,000 seats once summer changes at Castalia are factored in, including the away-fan section, VIP areas, the control and security room and an updated press zone. New sign-ups run until Sunday 9 August, although demand could exhaust availability sooner.

The first team returned to training on Tuesday after a camp at the Royalverd Training Center and two days off, starting their last full week before the league. They play two friendlies in 24 hours, at Hércules on Friday at José Rico Pérez from 19.30, then against Levante UD, a Primera División club, on Saturday at Ciudad Deportiva La Coma from 19.00, the latter behind closed doors.
