Both Yang Hyun-Jun and his compatriot, Kwon Hyeok-kyu, are primed and ready to go for their country and they are very much in contention for the Korean Republic’s next fixtures.
Yang has been getting far more game time at Celtic Park under Brendan Rodgers this term and whilst many are still unconvinced by the winger, he has shown his ability to drive with the ball at times and create problems for teams.
His return is still far away from the level required to succeed long term at Celtic, although it has been good enough to make his national team manager take him seriously.

Meanwhile, Kwon Hyeok-kyu is out on loan at this moment in time at Hibernian and has been progressing well under David Gray at Easter Road. The Edinburgh side have came back from the brink under their former player to go on a fantastic winning run domestically at the minute. Kwon has played his part of this renaissance and has given a fair contribution to it over the piece.
South Korea’s national team head coach, Hong Myung-bo, travelled to Europe this month to meet with his players that are based in European football. Both Yang and Kwon were no exception and the Taegeuk Warriors’ gaffer met with our Bhoys during this trip earlier on in the month, ahead of their fixtures against Oman and Jordan in March.

Myung-bo said of his journey, which included a meeting with the Celtic duo, as reported Herald Sport: “My trip to Europe was very beneficial. Accompanied by my coaches Park Geon-ha, Kim Dong-jin, and Kim Jin-gyu, we watched games in Scotland, England, Germany, Netherlands and Belgium. We met with Yang Hyun-jun at Celtic and Kwon Hyuk-gyu at Hibernian, along with several other European-based players.”
