Celtic have scheduled to hold further talks today as they try to find an agreement with Frosinone for winger Fares Ghedjemis, according to Sky Sports journalist Anthony Joseph.
Celtic manager Martin O’Neill could lose Arne Engels to Nottingham Forest before the deadline tomorrow, and the Hoops want a replacement.
However, a move for Ghedjemis is not dependent on what happens to Engels, and the Bhoys also have other targets should a move for the Frenchman fall through.
Celtic also have DAC Dunajska Streda’s Damir Redzic on their radar, while SC Freiburg forward Junior Adamu is reportedly a target.
The Austrian attacker is waiting for the green light to travel into the United Kingdom to join the Hoops, but two other clubs are monitoring his situation.
Celtic have signed both Bournemouth defender Julian Araujo and Borussia Monchengladbach striker Tomas Cvancara on loan.
Stephen Welsh and Adam Montgomery have also been recalled from their loan spells at Motherwell and Livingston, respectively.
O’Neill could still do with more quality players to boost his chances of pipping Hearts and Rangers to the Scottish Premiership title.
Celtic need to win against Falkirk today to close the gap between them and the league leaders to six points.
They could do with a finisher like Ghedjemis, and talks could go on until tomorrow.
The 23-year-old right winger has eight goals and two assists in 22 Serie B games so far this term and could be a huge addition to the Hoops’ attack.
Frosinone would want to sign a replacement before allowing Ghedjemis to leave, and Celtic will hope they can get a deal over the line before 7pm tomorrow.
