Champions League 2025-26: draw dates and rules for knockouts

On Friday, February 27 at 12:00 PM, the draw for the Round of 16 of the 2025-2026 Champions League will take place (the matches will be played on March 10-11 and 17-18), as well as the draw for the quarter-finals (April 7-8 and 14-15) and semi-finals (April 28-29 and May 5-6). Paris Saint-Germain is among the clubs that could be involved, playing the playoffs against AS Monaco this Wednesday (having won the first leg 2-3). Below, you’ll find information about how to watch the draw and how it will proceed.

Where to follow the Champions League playoff draw?

This event will be broadcast on sports TV channels (L’Equipe, beIN SPORTS) and Canal+, as well as streaming for free on the UEFA website. In writing, we will publish the draw with live updates.

How does the draw work?

“The clubs are paired according to their final ranking in the league phase to form four seeded pairs (1st and 2nd, 3rd and 4th, 5th and 6th, 7th and 8th). The clubs in each pair are drawn to face a winner from the knockout playoffs, whose position was determined during the playoff draw.” — UEFA text.

The highest-ranked club during the league phase plays the second leg at home.

There are no restrictions regarding country or clubs already faced in the league phase for the draw. The entire bracket will be established starting from the Round of 16 draw, even though it is already pre-established.
