JS Kabylie failed to erase the heavy defeat suffered in Cairo. For their second outing in the CAF Champions League group stage, the Kabyle club had to settle for a frustrating draw (0-0) against Young Africans, despite being urged on by a large crowd eager for a response. Despite a clear determination to take control in this tough group, the Canaries never managed to break the deadlock.

The first half, lively yet fruitless, showcased JSK’s attacking shortcomings. Up against a compact and well-organized Tanzanian block, Boudebouz and his teammates tried repeatedly to create chances but never really threatened. Technical accuracy was often lacking in the final touch, while the visiting goalkeeper calmly dealt with JSK’s rare attempts.

In the second half, Young Africans doubled down on their defensive discipline, closing down all the spaces and breaking up the tempo of the game. JSK tried to push forward in the dying moments, coming agonizingly close to breaking the deadlock when Messaoudi struck the crossbar, but it wasn’t to be. This draw will leave a bitter taste, as victory seemed crucial to revive a continental campaign that is already looking complicated.
