According to sources close to the negotiations, the Champions League will generate significantly more revenue for participating clubs from the 2027-2028 season onward. However, neither the current format nor the lack of free access will change. Rumors about a potential influence from A22, the company behind the Super League project, have been dismissed by Marca.

Broadcasting rights will be handled by UC3, a joint venture between UEFA and the ECA (European Club Association), with Relevent taking over sales from TEAM Marketing. The competitive bidding process, expected to kick off in the coming weeks across major European markets, confirms that UEFA and ECA member clubs will remain at the heart of key decision-making.

While fans can expect new audiovisual innovations—including fresh camera angles, new storytelling techniques, and enhanced content—there will be no free-to-air access, and the rumored format featuring two groups of 18 teams is not on the table. However, the financial rewards for clubs are set to be much higher than in previous editions.
