Mamelodi Sundowns stormed to the summit of the Betway Premiership after commanding 3 - 0 victory over 10 man Magesi FC at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Despite their favourites tag, Sundowns endured shaky start when Wonderboy Makhubu forced Ronwen Williams into fine save inside 10 minute.
But Masandawana responded midway through the half as Thapelo Morena’s miscued effort fell kindly for 19 year old Kutlwano Letlhaku to break the deadlock.
Magesi’s task grew harder just before the interval when Samuel Darpoh received red card for reckless challenge on Arthur Sales.
Reduced to ten men, the Limpopo side were left chasing shadows as the defending champions tightened their grip.
Sundowns doubled their advantage in the 65 minute through Iqraam Rayners who finished off pinpoint cross from Morena.
The Bafana Bafana forward then sealed the result with towering header from Aubrey Modiba free kick completing his brace & clinching the Man of the Match award.
The victory lifted Miguel Cardoso’s side to 14 point, 1 clear of Sekhukhune United who hold game in hand.
Sundowns now turn their attention to Marumo Gallants on 17 September while Magesi remain 14th just point above bottom side Chippa United.
