Chelsea are closing in on a deal for Villarreal’s Filip Jorgensen, who would be the seventh goalkeeper in their first team dynamic alongside Robert Sanchez, Djordje Petrovic, Gabriel Slonina, Marcus Bettinelli, Lucas Bergstrom and Kepa Arrizabalaga. Despite this, they are seemingly preparing to make a move for Andriy Lunin.

Diario AS have reported that Lunin is part of Chelsea’s plans for the upcoming season. Over the last few weeks, they’ve been considering whether to make a move, and it’s now been deciding that they want to make an effort to sign the Ukrainian stopper, whose future at the Santiago Bernabeu looks very uncertain.

A deal would include Kepa, who’d return to Real Madrid to be the backup to Thibaut Courtois. The 29-year-old impressed club officials during his loan spell last season, and he’s seen as the ideal candidate to replace Lunin, in the event that he does leave.

Real Madrid can’t exactly stand in Lunin’s way, given that his contract expires next summer. They’ll be hoping to secure a very favourable deal with Chelsea, once any offers start to arrive.
