In a recent report, journalist Mark Brus stated that Chelsea are keeping a keen eye on Strasbourg midfielder Valentin Barco. It is understood that the Blues are eyeing a move to bring the Argentine talent to Stamford Bridge next year.
Barco has put in a series of impressive displays for the French club in the middle of the park this season. The 21-year-old has registered one goal and grabbed four assists in 18 matches for Strasbourg during this campaign in various competitions.
The Argentine sensation has proven his worth as a good contributor in the middle of the park for the Ligue 1 outfit. However, the jury is still out on whether he can replicate his good form in the Premier League.
His current deal at Strasbourg will expire in the summer of 2029. Thus, the Blues would have to make a convincing offer if they are serious about recruiting Barcoa next year.

Barco is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and has got the vision to create some inviting chances in the final third. He can strike the ball with power from long range and can chip in by scoring and creating the odd goal for his team from midfield.
Barco is primarily a left-back but can also fill in as a left-sided wide player if told to do so. However, only time will tell whether the Argentine sensation can cope with the physicality and high intensity of the Premier League if the Blues manage to acquire his services next year.
We can expect Barco to add more quality and depth to Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca’s midfield department. He is good enough to compete for a regular first-team spot at the West London club in the coming years.
At 21, the future looks quite promising for Barca as long as he continues to improve with season. Therefore, Maresca should focus on trying everything in his power to lure him to Stamford Bridge this January or next summer. However, the Blues have to give him some time to adjust to life in England before they can get the best out of the player.
