We have another transfer window now been and gone as it slammed shut for English clubs late last night right after Chelsea beat West Ham.
I don’t think anyone was expecting any late business from Chelsea in the end because it soon became clear that apart from signing a new midfielder, they weren’t going to be doing anything else other than sending a bunch of players on loan in the final moments of the window.
Players such as Ben Chilwell, who got a late loan move to Crystal Palace in the end, and Joao Felix, who got his loan move away to AC Milan, will now spend the rest of the season playing more football than they would have got at Chelsea. But we will face all these same problems yet again trying to sell players in the summer when they all return from their loan moves.
Another player who finally got his loan move away was Axel Disasi, who had been pushing for a move all window as well but at one point looked like he was going to be forced to stay at Stamford Bridge until the summer at least.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has been speaking about what Chelsea did and didn’t do and what they are now planning for the summer transfer window, and it looks like there wasn’t much else going on other than considering Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United.
“Chelsea considered Garnacho [on deadline day] but decided to keep the current squad and make investments into the attack in the summer window.”
So here we go again for the summer then, loads more sagas, briefs, and stories to come.
