Enzo Maresca was quick to clear up any confusion. On the eve of Chelsea’s trip to Newcastle, the Blues boss firmly dismissed rumors linking him as a possible successor to Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, slamming them as an attempt to destabilize the club mid-season.
"A connection with Manchester City? That’s 100% speculation. I don’t have any time to waste on that," he said,
before stressing:
"I have a contract with Chelsea until 2029. My only focus is on this club and I am proud to be here."
