Chelsea full-back Bernabé joins Liverpool on loan | OneFootball

Liverpool have completed the signing of full-back Alejandra Bernabé on a loan deal from Chelsea until the end of the season.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Reds this evening.

The 23-year-old once-capped Spanish international defender joined Chelsea from Atlético Madrid in the summer 2023 transfer window. She joined Real Sociedad on loan last season to further her development. Bernabé has made a couple of substitute appearances for Chelsea this term but she needs more game time if she is to push for regular starts. The youngster will now be hoping to help Liverpool enjoy a strong second half of the season.

After joining The Reds on loan, Bernabé said “For me, it’s a pleasure to be here. I know that this is a big club and also I hear the love from outside about this big club, so it’s a pleasure to be coming here.

“I’ve had a look around and it’s so beautiful. I know it has a history and the amazing facilities they have and everything. I think it’s the perfect place, it’s just amazing and I can’t wait to get started.”

Bernabé is Liverpool’s third signing of the January transfer window.
