Transfer deadline day is incoming again for another winter window, with Monday seeing the last chance for English clubs to do any late deals.

Chelsea were expected to be busy this week, or at least that is what we kept hearing from the top sources regarding their plans. But we are now into Thursday the 30th January and still, there is absolutely nothing significant to report.

Sources: Chelsea considering late move for PL striker who isn’t Liam Delap!!

All that we are hearing about at the moment in terms of potential arrivals at the club is Mathys Tel of Bayern Munich, although even that one looks like it has a long way to go on it if Chelsea are to stand any chance at all of landing him. Bayern’s director did confirm just this week though that the player wants to leave this month, so clubs are now going to be jumping at that potential signature.

But as well as Tel, Chelsea have drawn up a shortlist of players who they want to sign, with ideally one coming in before the end of the deadline next week.

The Daily Express report that Chelsea are reportedly looking at five targets after having their pursuit of Aston Villa star John Duran scuppered. The Blues had been linked with a move for the Colombian striker in the January transfer window, but he now looks set to head to Saudi Arabia amid reports Aston Villa will accept a £59million bid from Al-Hilal.

According to the Daily Mail, the club are targeting five forward players in a bid to boost their Champions League hopes.

As well as Tel, Alejandro Garnacho of Manchester United, Liam Delap of Ipswich Town, Jamie Gittens of Dortmund, and Nico Williams of Atletic Bilbao are the names on said shortlist.
