Chelsea reopen talks to sign Mike Maignan | OneFootball

Mike Maignan (30) does not intend to renew his contract at AC Milan and so the Frenchman is, now more than ever, heading towards the exit door. Alerted to the market opportunity, Chelsea have reopened talks with the goalkeeper, Sacha Tavolieri understands. 

Chelsea showed a strong interest in Maignan in the summer. The Frenchman wants to fulfil a childhood dream by playing in the Premier League, however, AC Milan priced him out of a move. Chelsea weren’t willing to pay the Italian side’s asking price, given that he had just one year left on his deal at the time of the talks.

But talks between Maignan and Chelsea have restarted in recent days. The goalkeeper has made it clear that he will not renew his deal with the Serie A side. Juventus are also in the race to sign France’s No.1, but it is Chelsea who lead the race, Tavolieri understands.
