Chelsea’s Brazilian wonderkid Estevao netted his first goal for his country in the 3-0 win over Chile.

The 18-year-old, who has made an impressive start to life at Chelsea following his move from Palmeiras this summer, opened the scoring in the World Cup qualifier, firing in with a bicycle kick a couple of yards out from goal.

He played 66 minutes before being substituted. Fellow Premier League stars Lucas Paqueta and Bruno Guimaraes capped off a comfortable win for Carlo Ancelotti’s side, who sit second in the CONMEBOL World Cup qualification table.

“I’ve always dreamed of scoring my first goal for the national team at the Maracana, since I was a child,” Estevao said after the game. “I dedicate it to my family who are in London. We always come here and try our best to bring joy to the fans.”

Joao Pedro also started for the Seleção in the victory, playing 71 minutes.

Andrey Santos also came off the bench in the second half, replacing Casemiro in the 66th minute.

Estevao’s Chelsea team-mate Marc Cucurella was also on the scoresheet for his country as Spain beat Bulgaria 3-0, firing a powerful shot into the far corner for his side’s second of the game.

Moises Caicedo was rested by Ecuador for their goalless draw against Paraguay but Kendry Paez, who is on loan at Strasbourg from Chelsea for the season, started and played 70 minutes.
