Chelsea star predicted to be “shining again” under Xabi Alonso by former Man U star | OneFootball

Patrice Evra is always capable of a quote that gets people’s attention, and today was no exception.

He’s been speaking about the World Cup, and about Cole Palmer missing out on England’s squad. The former Man U star defended Palmer and pointed to a brighter future ahead for Chelsea’s talisman.

Evra predicts Palmer to be back to his best under Alonso

“Let’s not forget, Palmer has been injured a lot. Palmer doesn’t need any manager to get him back to his best. Injuries are not easy to recover from,” Evra said in quotes picked up by Tribal Football.

“Sometimes, some players get injured and they get one or two years to get back to their level. But knowing Alonso and him accepting the job, I wouldn’t be surprised if Palmer is shining again at Chelsea.”

We love that positivity. Most Chelsea fans are certainly hoping the same – although there will a few who have their doubts after more than a year of Palmer’s struggles.
