Chelsea have been hit by a triple injury concern before Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final against Leeds United at Wembley, with one youngster left in tears.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, the Blues suffered two further injuries during their latest outing, having already lost a key player before kick-off. They were beaten 1-0, Matheus Cunha scoring the only goal.
The first setback arrived at the team announcement, when striker Joao Pedro was ruled out with a thigh problem, with hopes he could return on Tuesday.
During the match, 18-year-old Brazilian Estevao departed within minutes, then captain Enzo Fernandez was withdrawn with two minutes remaining.
Head coach Rosenior said Estevao appeared to have suffered a hamstring injury, adding that he was in tears at half-time and that it occurred as he ran through on goal. He hoped the teenager would be back sooner rather than later.
On Fernandez, Rosenior believed the issue was in his calf and hoped it was cramp, with staff working to have him fit for Tuesday.
When the sides meet it will be a third outing in nine days for both, with Leeds visiting Bournemouth on Wednesday and Chelsea away at Fulham on Tuesday.
