Chelsea target shines in game Enzo Fernandez is taken off – receives praise

Chelsea target Valentin Barco came on for Argentina last night and really shone bright and received some big praise.

Barco, according to my own sources, is actually pretty close to joining Chelsea from Strasbourg in the summer in a deal that I expect to go through. BlueCo are obviously the owners of both clubs and they want to fend off interest coming in for Barco from other major clubs in Europe this summer.

Argentina smashed Zambia 5-0 at home in a friendly match last night, one which Enzo Fernandez started, and Barco started on the bench.

Many Chelsea fans feel that Barco could come in and replace Fernandez at Chelsea this summer, and he certainly outshone the Chelsea man last night when he came on.

Barco praise

Fernandez was removed, and Barco came on a bit later for a really nice cameo, scoring a late goal for his country as well

He received praise from the Argentine media for his performance. TYCSports handed him a 7/10 rating for his display, saying:

“He played as an inside midfielder but without a fixed position. Simple and effective at one- and two-touch play. He had the pleasure of scoring his first goal for the national team. A very positive night for Valentín.”

Fernandez received just a 6/10, with them stating: “It took him a while to find his rhythm, until he gained more playing time and finally loosened up when he went over five.”

In other news today…

Chelsea have already made two new signings who are arriving in the summer, one winger and one striker. Although it’s being debated that they aren’t quite the ‘Estevao level’ of signings this week.

It’s also being claimed that Chelsea will now look to sign more ‘ready-made’ stars and are even looking to tweak their transfer model a bit in the wake of the criticism received from their own player, Marc Cucurella, earlier this week.
