Chelsea are set to commence talks with Paris Saint-Germain over a deal for Randal Kolo Muani in the January transfer window, according to Foot Mercato.

Muani has been a peripheral figure at PSG since his €95 million move from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2023.

He has started just 15 league games for his current employers, with only two of them coming this term under Luis Enrique. He dropped the 26-year-old from the three final matchday squads of 2024.

Consequently, a move away from the French capital is a serious possibility for the striker next month, with several clubs around Europe circling for his signature.

Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move, while AC Milan are also reportedly weighing up a deal for the French international.

Premier League giants Chelsea are the latest team to be credited with an interest in Muani. They are keen to bring in a new striker after their failed pursuit of Victor Osimhen last summer.

While he operates primarily as a centre-forward, Muani is also capable of playing a variety of attacking positions, which could come in handy for Chelsea.

Enzo Maresca’s side could do with added firepower as they continue their push to return to the Champions League for the first time in three years.

Chelsea’s bright start to the season has surprised a few people, although recent setbacks against Everton and Fulham have dampened the mood a bit at Stamford Bridge.

They currently sit fourth in the Premier League table ahead of their final game of the year at Ipswich Town on Monday.
