Chelsea’s lowest rated player for this season will not surprise you – but Cole Palmer’s ranking might

The final performance ratings of the season for Chelsea after a horrible season have some interesting quirks.

Football stats sites are funny things, and you only have to look at the FotMob final season scores for Chelsea to see that.

Their rankings of the top rated players for the Blues in the Premier League really don’t correspond as strongly with what most fans are saying after a dreadful season.

Enzo Fernandez tops Chelsea charts – striker at the bottom

They have Enzo Fernandez top on 7.30, which is fair enough. Most fans would have him in their top 3.

Player of the year winner Joao Pedro is down in 3rd with 7.18.

Perhaps most surprisingly of all is Cole Palmer in 6th place, despite what was largely a shocking season. He’s above Trevoh Chalobah, Marc Cucurella, Estevao and Andrey Santos, all of whom we’d say put in better performances on average.

Last year, Palmer had an incredible 6 Player of the Match awards to his name on their site – this year he was down to 2.

One thing we can all agree on is the lowest rated – Liam Delap got a stinking 6.30 rating for a debut season that he (and we) would like to forget.
