Cherries sign centre-back Bafodé Diakité

After losing several key defenders in this transfer window, AFC Bournemouth has announced the signing of Bafodé Diakaté from Ligue 1 side Lille.
In an official statement, the Cherries announced the arrival of the 24-year-old, who has signed a a five-year deal to keep the player at the club until the summer of 2030.
The deal is reportedly worth €35 million, with an additional €5 million in possible in add-ons, to make Diakité the club's second most-expense signing.
“I’m really happy to be here and I’m very excited to start with the team," Diakaté said on his arrival.
"I know the coach has great ideas which enables us to play well in the Premier League. Now I’m at the club, it’s a good opportunity to show how I can help the team going forward."
“I’m a defender who likes to have the ball and play with it, and I hope to show my qualities both with and without it. I will give everything for the team and I hope we will have some great moments together.”
