Chicago Fire scored only six goals this season and the signing of Chris Mueller should bring more power to the team
According to Pedro Breganholi, from Territorio MLS, the striker Chris Mueller is set to join Chicago Fire after almost a year in Europe. To complete the deal, the Chicago Fire sent a first-round pick in the draft, in addition to a value in GAM (General Allocation Money) to Orlando City, the player’s former team, which will give up Mueller’s return priority. The first to report the information about a negotiation between the clubs was Paul Tenorio of The Athletic.
A verbal agreement involving the Chicago Fire and Chris Muller is already in place and now all that remains is to finalize the paperwork, according to Tenorio. However, Chris Mueller is expected to be available to play this weekend against Atlanta United. The official announcement will happen in the next few hours.
Playing for Hibernian (Scotland) in 2022, Chris Mueller appeared in 11 games (five as a starter). The only goal scored by the Mueller was on February 13th at Hibernian’s 3-1 victory against Arbroath in a game valid for the Scottish Cup.
Chris Mueller is a native of Schaumburg, Illinois. For Orlando City he scored 21 goals in 112 games. Before playing for Orlando, he had stints at Chicago Fire’s own academy.
