Christian Kofane has struck in successive games for Bayer Leverkusen, and is relishing Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League last 16 clash against Arsenal.
Speaking at Tuesday’s press conference, the Cameroonian discussed competition for places with Patrik Schick, while praising the Premier League leaders.
“[Arsenal are] a very big team,” said the 19-year-old, who has four goal contributions in his last three Bundesliga games. “But we have trained well and are ready.
“We’ll be brave and give our all so we don’t have to blame ourselves in the end and make our fans happy.”
Schick has missed Leverkusen’s last two games but will return for Wednesday’s game against Arsenal. However, Kofane doesn’t see his teammate as a direct competitor.
“I can take a lot from his experience,” he said. “He helps me a lot in everyday life and on the pitch. I’m delighted to be working with such a successful striker.”
