Manchester City lived up to expectations and, almost at training pace, secured their second victory in this Club World Cup with a 6-0 success over Al Ain from the United Arab Emirates.

Pep Guardiola's team controlled the game from start to finish and will now face Juventus in their final Group G game to decide top spot.

Al Ain, however, will bid farewell to the competition against WAC from Morocco.

A walk in the park

Even with a completely different starting eleven from their first outing against WAC, City were in control from start to finish.

Just nine minutes in, Ilkay Gundogan gave Pep Guardiola's side the lead with a lovely lofted finish that gave opposing goalkeeper Khalid Eisa no chance.

City continued to easily create chances and extended their lead on 27 minutes with a stunning free-kick from Claudio Echeverri

On his debut as a starter in the Club World Cup, Erling Haaland then notched his first goal of the tournament with a penalty just before half-time.

After the interval, Bernardo Silva broke away through the middle and delivered with precision to Gundogan, who made it 4-0, and further goals from Oscar Bobb and Rayan Cherki completed the rout.
