City stumble at Everton as Arsenal edge closer to title | OneFootball

Manchester City were held to a dramatic 3-3 draw at Everton, with Jeremy Doku rescuing a point in stoppage time but dealing a significant blow to their Premier League title hopes.

Pep Guardiola’s side dominated large spells but needed a moment of brilliance to break the deadlock just before half-time. Doku delivered it, cutting inside and curling a superb effort into the top corner to give City the lead.

The Toffees, however, came out with far more intent after the break and turned the game on its head in a remarkable spell. Thierno Barry capitalised on a defensive error from Marc Guehi to level the scores, and moments later Jake O'Brien powered home a header from a corner to put the hosts ahead.

City’s defensive issues were exposed again as Barry grabbed his second, finishing off a slick move to make it 3-1 and leave the visitors stunned.

To their credit, City responded. Erling Haaland pulled one back late on to set up a tense finale, with Guardiola’s side throwing everything forward in search of an equaliser.

Just when it looked like Everton would hold on, Doku stepped up once more. Deep into stoppage time, the winger cut inside and produced another outstanding finish into the far corner to snatch a draw at the death.

While the result keeps City within touching distance, they now trail Arsenal by five points, and their title hopes are no longer fully in their own hands.
