City to host FC Barcelona in pre-season friendly | OneFootball

The friendly between the champions of England and reigning Champions League holders, presented by Joie, will take place on Saturday 15 August, with kick-off scheduled for 16:00 (UK).

Tickets for this fixture will go on sale on Wednesday 5 August, with full details to be announced shortly, including the priority sales window for Women’s Season Ticket Holders, the general sale timeline, pricing and eligibility criteria.

It represents a fantastic opportunity for Andrée Jeglertz’s side to test ourselves against the continent’s best before we enter the 2026/27 campaign aiming to retain our Barclays Women’s Super League and FA Cup crowns.

City will also return to the European football next term and will get a taste of the challenges that lie ahead in the prestigious competition by hosting Pere Romeu’s team.

The teams last faced off at the Joie Stadium in October 2024, when goals from Naomi Layzell and Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw secured a famous 2-0 victory for City over Barca in the Champions League.

In the reverse fixture away from home, an injury-hit Blues squad suffered a 3-0 defeat to the eventual 2024/25 finalists.
