Manchester City are currently working out a compensation fee with Chelsea to allow them to appoint Enzo Maresca.

The Italian is in line to replace the outgoing Pep Guardiola as the club's new first time manager but there are still details that need to be completed.

The issue stems back from Maresca's departure from Chelsea at the start of the calendar year with the 46-year-old having a contract with the club until 2029.

According to Sky Sports News, the Citizens are hoping to finally complete the process of working out a compensation deal with Chelsea and officially announce the appointment in the coming days.

Maresca oversaw 28 games in charge of the Blues this season before his exit, with a record of 14 wins, seven draws, and seven defeats from 28 games. Before that he won both the Conference League and Club World Cup with the London side.
